Re: [APML] using a nikon 400 f2.8
Brian,
I had some rings custom made. Otherwise, I would have used the Losmandy
DR177 (I have a G11). I positioned one just in front of the tripod collar
and the other behind the (extended) lens shade. I also have an aluminum
block bolted to the mounting plate. This has a 1/4 in. hole bored through
it which allows me to secure the lens by its regular tripod mount. This way
I can still rotate the camera body by temporarily loosening the ring screws.
