[APML] G11 - Please HELP!!!!

Those wonderful four boxes arrived today, and unfortunately, I already have
to run to the list for help - this is really unbelievable! I thought the
mounts were so great? Anyhow, I set everything up, only to discover the "N"
button on the control didn't work - doesn't move when I press it. OK, so i'm
going to get a new control box.

But then I wanted to tighten the axis clutches, which works fine on RA, but
the Dec. axis seems to be too long!!! When tightening the clutch, it stops
at one point, but not because the resistance is too great - it stops because
it runs out of thread on the declination axis! This means I cannot tighten
the dec. axis at all, and the saddle plate just moves around back and
forth - no way of doing astrophotography! Has anyone experienced this
problem before? I've posted a picture of the area in question here:
http://members.nbci.com/analemma/g11.jpg (50Kb). It seems that the dec. axis
is simply too long, especially as there is extra thread sticking out at the
bottom of the clutch, unlike the picture of the G11 on Losmandy's web site!
I really hope someone can help me figure this out - I'd hate having to get a
new mount....

Clear skies, but without a mount....
