RE: [APML] Witchhead Challenge
Carlos,
As I replied off list, very nice work on bringing out the details.
I hope to get my version posted today. I've been traveling for the last 4
days with very little time for the computer.
I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the different versions of this image. It
has been fun and a good learning experience.
Thanks to all who participated in the challenge.

Hi Scott!
A bit late, but here is my version of your image:
http://pteam.pleiades-astrophoto.com/witch/witch_challenge_carlos.jpg
The whole processing was done in PixInsight Standard. It included background
extraction and flat fielding (see my article in PixInsight's homepage on how
to apply them to film images dividing), the common histograms (levels) and
curves adjustements, plus SCNR, wavelets and SGBNR. The only "weird"
procedure was to enhance a bit some large scale features throught wavelets
(I increased the bias of the 16, 32 and 128 scales, masking with the Green
channel). Other than that, the main difference from other processings you
already saw here is the flat fielding. I'm sure this explains why you can
see more nebolusities in here.
Regards,
Carlos Milovic F.
