[APML] Microtek ScanMaker i900

Gang,

I still haven't made up my mind on a flatbed scanner that will scan medium
format and larger film. I was just about to put the Epson 4870 on my
Christmas list, but have now come across several very favorable reviews of
the Microtek ScanMaker i900. This large-ish unit will scan up to 8x10 film @
6400x3200 optical/48-bit res, in some kind of unique glassless
configuration, with a density range of 4.2 (no doubt an over-estimate, but
still...). I have yet to find any significant sample scans posted online,
though. Has anyone used this scanner to scan astrophotos or other shots?
Anybody have any high-res samples?
