I have to admit that I've NEVER used mirror lock up either. Most of my shooting has been at f/10 and lasts at least an hour. Even with the old TV-85 and the reducer (f/5.6?) I never saw a problem, In my experience, it's over-rated. Even on solar or lunar shots I never used it and still never saw a problem.
