Re: [APML] OT: Canon 10D is APOD today

I just ordered a 10D after doing quite a bit of research.  You will find offers on the internet for the body only for around $1100, but that is with no battery, charger, case, memory card, etc.  The standard "American" package which includes everything but the memory card runs around $1500.  I just was able to get a 10D with the American package, a 256 M card and a 28-80 mm lens thrown in, plus shipping, for $1599.  The best prices seem to be at Express Cameras and Royal Cameras...but be careful...they'll try to sell you everything including the kitchen sink when you call.

Hey Bobby,

How expensive is the 10D?
If I were working at SBIG I'd be very worried. They'll be forced to lower
their prices I'd imagine.

That would be my hope. To this point I've been very surprised that digital cameras have had such little fallout into our hobby, at least as far as prices are concerned. I asked about the price yesterday but so far have not really heard. Anyone have a guess?
