I have been playing around a bit with the 10D and (despite the low Ha response) I like it as an astrophoto camera. The only special steps in processing my pics was to use ImagesPlus software because it allows you to use color dark subtraction (all the other image processing programs require a grayscale image). This dark subtraction is important to do because you will see "amp glow" in any long exposures. This refers to the slight magenta illumination that appears on the right side of the image. It is easily corrected. After combining all of the images, the only other processing I do is Levels and Curves in Photoshop.
Thanks Tom, Greg and Mike,
Is the combining done in Images Plus, or is that used just for the color dark subtraction?
I'm also wondering if the 10D and the EOS are entirely different cameras, or the same, or partly similiar. Anyone have any ffedback on that?
Also, does anybody have an idea what these things will be selling for?
Thanks,
Alan
