Pretty much any of the "L" lenses work great - except for possibly
the 85mm. And even that one's problem are due to mechanical
issues, not optical. But you're going to spend just as much as
for an APO.
The non "L"s are a different story. For the most part they are
not good for astrophotography. You can find some decent design
in older (mid-80's) lenses, but I know of no good ones that are
still manufactured. You might consider browsing a local used
camera store and trying out some of the older designs. Ask them
to either let you return it for a full refund if it doesn't
work or maybe just let you put a deposit down to borrow them
and go through their stock <g>.
