I use a Canon 200mm f2.8L
telephoto, which is nice a nd sharp and , like most "L" lenses, is free of
significant abberations/colour error/etc. The bad news: it's not cheap and may
or may not be easy to find. The Canon 70-200mm f.2.8 "L telephoto is
expensive, but one of the best tele's around. Shots of starfields with
th70-200mm are as sharp as the 200mm prime from what I can see. I also have a
Sigma 15mm fi2.8EX fisheye, which is quite good for wide field pics, aurora,
etc and it is relatviely fee from abberations too,
especially stopped down to f/4 (which really helps with all of the lenses
mentioned). I have heard really good things about the
Canon100mm f2.8 (non-"L") macro too. Good luck!! Enjoy the 10D.
Hope your skies are better than what I've been dealing with lately!!!
:-)
Merry Christmas and Season's
Greetings to all.
