Hi Brian,
I still get significant scanning
jobs ... mostly all chrome (positive) films now ...
The greatest trend that I see now is the advent of the Epson professional
level printers with 8 color inks ... the new Epson 4000 is going to be a killer
... archival pigmented inks and the ability to print on coated AND uncoated
media ... It's going to be almost twice as fast as the 7600 / 9600 machines as
well ... so I see the end of photochemical printing in the future ... eventually
everyone will be doing their printing on a huge variety of medias at home and
outsourcing the larger stuff... when I think back to the pre-inkjet days
and the virtual monopoly photo labs had compared to the situation just ten years
later, it's pretty easy to see where it's all going. Even some 1-hour
machines are becoming inkjet ...
Have a good
one,
Tony
