Re: FW: [APML] OT: New M42 (STL11000M)
Hi Bruce
I am not a digital fan and only shoot oblong blobs on film, but Rob
posted the image as being OT. Which although it is not film has come to
signify that it is a digital image. Rob's processing information is
applicable to film as are some of his techniques.
The snarky comment was uncalled for and at best should have been in a
private e-mail to Rob. This list has a heated discussion over this topic
every few months and had just settled down from the last bout.
Also, skill and knowlege is still required for digital imaging. There
are plenty of people out there who have dumped the requisite cash for
digital imaging equipment and still don't have the results produced by
some people with nothing more than a barn door.
Just for fun, try shooting film from the type of location that Rob
shoots. If you get anything more than a green-yellow background with a
couple of dozen stars where the milky way should be you'll be doing
good.
