[APML] New Ha-Images, California nebula and NGC281

Hi all,

Making deep sky images at full moon with a Ha-filter is a funny thing. Last weekend I tried some mosaics for the first time.

The first one is a 3 piece mosaic of the California Nebula, done with my ZEISS SONAR 300/4, each image for 6 x 20 min with the Astronomik Ha-Filter. The moon was only about 15° away from the nebula!

The second is a 2 piece mosaic of the NGC 281, done with my VC200L at f/6.3, each image for 6 x 20 min with the Astronomik Ha-Filter:

The HX916 needs a bit more exposure time than other CCD-cameras at Ha, but it works. Before I got this CCD, the time around full moon was the time for sleeping or other importand things. That is definitly over!

Have fun,
Manfred
