Just out of curiosity: what software do you use to focus your CCD camera
with your PC?

I agree: the illuminated reticle EP is a great help in finding a guide star
and centering it.
I won't be using the very same scope, but anyway always one among a
selection of a few that make up my gear:
1) An MTO (1000 mm f/10) catadioptric lens
2) A 60-mm, 700-mm-FL el-cheapo refractor
3) My 8" SCT with a Cassegrain Easy guider.
I suppose I can focus the first two instruments quite easily, and then
forget about it; the refractor could be locked forever as I see no other
sensible use for such a piece of c**p. As for the 1000 mm lens, it focuses
by turning the front end (just as with most lenses that don't have internal
focus capabilities); I think that a millimeter scale should make do.
The SCT could be the problem; but then again, if I can make an eyepiece
perfectly parfocal (or buy one that already is), then my woes are possibly
over.
Thanks,
Emmanuele
