[APML] Feldstein adapter, FS-102, T III
Hey all,
I am considering trying to guide my FS-102 off axis. I'm wondering if
anyone has used a 'Feldstein' adapter to attach a Taurus T III via SCT
threads to the 2.7" focuser. I see there are 3 different Feldstein
adapters listed on Anacortes' site, but that's about all the info I can
find on them. No picture, no web address...
I'd like to find out if i can use the above setup to attach a 35mm
camera to the 102, and then in the future, use a similiar setup on a
FSQ (or similiar) with a 4" focuser.
I think there is much to be gained: I am very familiar with the Taurus
OAG, I could get rid of the following: guidescope, DSBS plate. DMM
plate and the 125mm rings. This greatly lessens the weight demands on
the mount, and I'll have less stuff to cause flexure problems. Also
those items won't have to be packed, transported and setup again when I
travel with the scope (this will remain my travel scope).
Those are the positives, I guess it's time to hear any negatives.
Anubody have experience with what I thinking of doing?
Thanks,
Alan
