RE: [APML] Re: Bisque IFocus eyepiece
Emmanuele,
This is exactly the same approach I use for focusing my ST-5C I
use as a guider. I use a Meade 12mm illuminated eyepiece and a homemade
setting ring. The advantage I have is being able to use a pc to focus
the ccd initially. It doesn't matter whether you use your eye glasses
or not as long as you do it the same way in the future. The crosshair
eyepiece also really helps to center your star on the chip.

Did you have to add some setting ring, or did it work just fine right
out of
the box? This could be a better option than an IFocus eyepiece, because
the
Vixen unit could make a fine accessory for visual use too.

Do you focus visually? I ask you this because I wear glasses, that might
be
a hindrance to using any kind of eyepiece.

I don't have any setting rings at hand... but I'll try looking from
them.

That's a good idea: have you ever tried it? If that's the case, what
software do you use to focus the ST-4? Since I don't have any old DOS
PC, I
guess I'll have to try searching for some a program running under
Windows
(ME/2000/XP).
Thanks anyway,
Emmanuele
