Surely IR filters are only required for refractors, not reflectors? (not
sure what effect the collector plate on an SCT might be tho)

One possible option for temporary conversion back to terrestrial photography
is to mount an IR filter on the front of your lens - although its unclear
how well the filter used would have to match the characteristics of the
original IR filter. May effect the white/color balance - any ideas folks?

Looking for more info on the web provides a japanese site with pictures from
a 300d with the filter removed - Ha response, hell yeh!
