The image gives lots of shapes and spaces for the imagination to play
on. For me, the hard and soft contrasts on either side of the voids
make the picture work in non classical form and on a grand scale.
It is an unusually beautiful picture that shows how darks can not only
be central to a composition but absolutely necessary for its balance.
