[APML] Sprintscan question

I have a question for anyone who is familiar with the Sprintscan 35 or
SCSI connections.
I keep getting SCSI phase sequence errors reported when I try to scan at
2700DPI, about 85% of the time.
The adaptec SCSI card is connected to the scanner with a feedthrough
terminator at the scanner input, Is this correct?
I am running the original Sprintscan software and drivers since it is
reported (by polaroid) to work better than the newer Polacolor software
when working with thin negatives.
Any advice or suggestions?
