Bobby,

Its real.  It is on a 20-year old TP shot of the region I did with my
Schmidt.  Look at
http://www.robertreeves.com/horsbig.jpg and there are dim nebulae where you
refer to.  Sorry this is a compressed jpg and the detail isn't the greatest,
but it shows the faint nebulocity to the right.
