Re: [APML] 'challenge'

 Roland...

     Fantastic image of saturn and its moons... why didn't you do it in color?
<g> If you re-examine my post you'll see I said " Why not just concede the fact
that Saturn will be grossly over-exposed in any single :::film::: shot that
reveals M1... " CCD will have an edge on this one... no doubt. BTW... CCD
imager Roth Ritter < http://www.rothritter.com > wrote in AstroAtlanta
concerning the transit;

 " I guess this would be one of the few times my AGB chip would come in
handy and not bloom. Saturn at that size would definitely be a
washed, white "star". I'd probably shoot M1 as normal then pop on a
variable polarizing filter to shoot Saturn in the same frame and then
process them separately before making a composite. Should be an
interesting and fun challenge, but that may yield a true M1 and a
true Saturn image with no distortions. Sounds good in theory, but
I'll see if it actually works in practice:) "

What do you think about this approach?
