A moderate (Losmandy, MI) to high end (AP, Takahashi) equitorial mount will
give
you better tracking.
It will cost quite a bit more money, though.
You can do astrophotography with the LX200 mount with a small amount of
additional effort, mainly in PEC training and polar alignment. Doing it
with a higher end mount will give you fewer problems.
