I'm really leaning toward the 85 and will go a little higher if I have
to.

The reducer/corrector sounds good. It would be nice to shoot faster than
f/7 on the deep stuff.  What does the corrector do vs. the flattener?

I saw an 85 on astromart today for $1350, with a qwik
finder (?) and an EP. That's about the best price I've
seen for one, but you may be pushing the budget a bit.

A reducer/corrector will give you more options as far
as speed and FOV. There is also a flattener that
increases the the focal lenth a bit.
