RE: [APML] NGC 1977 Posted (Gumby)

Alan, I think you have reached a record for exposure time for supra 400
film! The colors look great, so does the guiding. A little grain reduction
with SGBNR may improve the image a bit.

Hi all,

I know what most of you call this one, well you're
wrong. :-) This has ALWAYS looked like the 'Gumby
Nebula' to me, so the Gumby Nebula it is.

I'm sure I can get image details posted with the image
at some point, but for now here they are: 12"LX200 at
prime focus, guided with a 208XT.
Image #1 taken 11/28, 195 minutes on Supra 400
Image #2 taken 12/1, 225 minutes on Supra 400

Images processed individually in PS 5.5, then taken
into PWPro and combined with a 4 point alignment.
Returned to PS for more work and conversion to JPEG
(thanks to all of you for your help with this
yesterday). I'm thankful all of you haven't gotten
together for a lynching, thanks for your patience.

I think this is probably over-processed, but I don't
care. I'd rather hear any comments about how this file
was handled, converted, scanning resolution, etc... I
already know I made a mistake combining the negs, I
don't think it's fatal. Click on the link:
