You know, I didn't think of that, but your quite right. I was almost
certainly tripping the shutter. I did once have a problem with the
film failing to properly engage the sprockets in the cold, but I'm
pretty sure that was not the case this time. I'll have to check the
shutter speed setting this weekend when I go back. I think when I do
I'm going to be feeling rather foolish....

I think the K1000 just has a general reputation as a good, common,
cheapie camera. I picked mine up quite cheap off Ebay because it has
a broken meter.

I really didn't know much about the MX. I picked up the KX because I
wanted the mirror lock up for some lunar photography. From a budget
perspective, the LX is in a completely different class and I didn't
really consider it. I'd rather save my money for a Pentax 67....
But now you've got me thinking about the MX....my wife is gonna kill
me if I come home with more cameras.... :-)
