I want to backtrack for a minute to these remarks you
made earlier.

The history dialog indicated 8 layers of curves. Was
that a mistake? When I click 'OK' or close, have I
just made a brand new layer? If yes, should I (in the
future) continually work on only a single layer of any
one tool?
