Thanks. You're right that the image (from PPF) was very grainy, even after stacking. I do find it difficult to find the balance for smoothing. Too much or too little, both can look bad, but to me over-smoothing looks worse. SGBNR works better than bgsmooth in part because it can generate a mask for you.
