Re: [APML] ngc7000 @ 135mm...

 Frank...

Thanks for the kind words... and thanks for doing the math on the tracking
error! I'm not talking about a little breeze here... gale force gusts... no
foolin'! My eyes got a little wind burnt in the hostile environment up there,
and are just now feeling normal. This last outing I took my CI700 mount, C8
OTA, 4" refractor OTA, the lens we've discussed... and the usual gobs of camera
and eyepiece gear... not to mention my 'Expedition Grade' cold weather apparel.
I don't take winter visits to that place lightly... if the weather turns on you
and your car doesn't start... that might be all for you. The warmest temp ever
recorded up there was 84* F... it was 102* in Atl that day... GA's coldest temp
was recorded there as well... -30* F... that's artic, even by Jon Kolb's
standards! <g> I did a quick and dirty web-page from a daylight pic monday
morning... shows me and the set-up... one day I'll add an 'Equipment' page to
the site. Nothing linked from the home page now... but you can see it here --->

Good luck with the Takumar lens... some of those are good performers... I'm not
familiar with the one you have, but most any lens will give good results *if*
you can stop it down far enough!

 Best...

 Geoff
