Whatever works- I've found some settings vary depending on the version
of photoshop your running also. I also find the layers AV method championed
by Matt B. to work the best, but is very time consuming, so alot of times
I opt for my simpler method.

Sean if you're out there, I find that I must take the blurred copy and reduce its bright/cont by -25 like Jerry L had suggested in his original gradient method.
