RE: [APML] SR44's

Hi Matt,

> Does anyone have any cautionary advice?

No, but I will note that all my Nikon (F3HP, FM2n, and FM10) bodies also
take the same SR44/LR44 batteries. I normally just bring the FM10 along for
daylight photography when I'm in the field, so if my illuminator goes dead,
and my spares are dead or already used from another time (and carelessly not
replaced), I pirate the cells from the daylight body. Another source is the
illuminator on my guiding eyepiece, which is normally not used after
completing drift alignment, and is identical to the illuminator on my finder
(both are Taks). Most of the time nowadays, I don't use a standard finder
at all, and rely on the setting circles or a Telrad to get me to the target,
then use the view through the camera for final composition.

On one trip I was forced to buy ridiculously expensive Kodak "Photo Life"
SR44s, but found that these lasted a really long time. Duracells have been
ok, too. I haven't tried the Radio Shack brand, but I sometimes wonder if
the economy is really there if they don't last very long.

Sincerely,
Jon Kolb
