RE: [APML] Newbie Printer Question--off topic?

Hi,
On the other hand, since images are stored as digital files, if one fades
in a few years, simply make another. And probably by the time it does fade,
more advanced printers and print technology will be available, so your
prints will look even better!

Just a thought...

Subject: [APML] Newbie Printer Question--off topic?

Please excuse me (and let me know) if this is too much
off topic.

I have been using an HP Photosmart ink jet and an Alps Dye
Sublimation Printer -- and I am now concerned about permanence
of the prints, quality, etc. I have read the article on the web about
ink jet permanence:
http://www.wilhelm-research.com/pdf/wir_permanence_06_20_00.pdf
(They evidently are updating their web site this month with new data).

Any comments on the Epson 1280 versus Epson 2000, or higher
end dye sub printers?

Again, I am new, so if this is not appropriate, please just let me know.

Season's Greetings
Steve Allen
