Vuescan Tony, Vuescan.. the latest versions even allow you to choose what spot
on the negative the scanner will focus on.. or you could do manual focus.
Autofocus in scanners works by maximizing contrast in a certain area of the
negative, could be a problem with certain astronomical subjects.
