Most people on the APML I
am sure use PC's and most software is written for PC's... BUT... if you are a
heavy graphics user, the Mac G4 with 1.5 gigs of RAM IMHO is the only way to
go... if you look behind the counter of any service bureau or graphics facility,
odds are you will see a line up of G4's ... for graphics the Mac platform is a
pleasure to work with. It all depends, however, on what you will be doing....
I'm not an expert, but I know speed when I see it.
A dual processor 800 G4 with 1.5gigs of RAM smokes
through Photoshop so fast it's like doing everything in real time. Note that the
software has to be written for dual processors... if not, you gain nothing from
using a DP.
