I just upgraded from a 17” Magvision
CTR to a 17” IBM L661 LCD and the difference in image quality is incredible. Much sharper, colors are clearer, and
there is no noticeable warm up time to it.
I also know have desk space J To answer your questions… 1) I have no idea how long it will last. My Mag is five years old and still going
strong (on the kids PC now). 2) With the L661 I did have to set up the color management before all
the windows icons and text looked sharp and clear (Display properties èSettingsèAdvancedèColor Management) 3) No warm up, not like my Mag that sounded like a small airplane
taking off and then having to wait for the colors to become “true”. Scott -----Original Message----- Here's a question for the computer
equipment gurus... The "new" LCD monitors
that are becoming more and more popular...would anyone out there know: 1. How long do
they last? Do they have the same life expectency as a CRT or better perhaps? 2. How well do
they represent an image compared to a good CRT monitor? Do they portray color
as accurately? 3. Do they need to
"warm up" or are they accurate from the moment that they are turned
on? Info much
appreciated...
