Re: [APML] monitors



They do have one quite nice feature that no CRT I've seen can match - a
non-reflective screen. For those who don't want to (or can't) re-arrange
their room lighting, this can be a very nice benefit - I've never cared for
the anti-glare filters that are supposed to be put over a CRT, they alter
the image far too much.
The newer ones I've seen all have adequate adjustments for color & contrast,
but they are sensitive to viewing angle as has been mentioned.
If you're trying to reach the level of quality seen in publication, you're
probably going to want to paint your walls a neutral gray and use dim
indirect lighting in the room; I would think most people might find
themselves quite satisfied with an LCD display in a typical environment
though.
Bear in mind that I have yet to try astrophotography, but I'm speaking from
other graphics experience...
