[APML] 1998 WT24 and NGC 891
The near-earth asteroid 1998WT24 will have a very close encounter with NGC
891 as seen from Europe near midnight on Sunday evening (Monday morning). At
that time, the asteroid will be moving at nearly 1 arcsecond per second (! -
one degree per hour). I'll try to capture the encounter with my 125mm Borg
scope at either f/6.4 or f/4. I'm just wondering if the asteroid will even
leave a trail if it's going that fast. Its visual magnitude at the time will
be 10m, and I'll be using Kodak Elite Chrome 200 film. What do you think?
