RE: [APML] OT:Help needed Optimizing Computer for PS(long)
Michael,
I second Robert's suggestion. I mostly use a Win2k P4 machine for image
processing now (1.4GHz), BUT, I also still use my old Pentium II machine
(450MHz). And the old machine, while a little slower, is not much slower.
I am processing many image files, and they are each 61MB in size or larger
(4000dpi 35mm), and the PII machine handles them like a champ.
However, the PII has 640MB of RAM and the P4 has 1GB of RAM. And I set
Photoshop (under edit-preferences) to use 90% of the RAM.
Photoshop is very, very RAM hungry.
