I can't help you with the HD questions, but I use Photoshop a lot also.  You
didn't say anything about how much RAM you have.  I have a 700HZ PIII that
came with 128M of RAM.  I recently shoveled in some more to make it 640M,
then told Photoshop to use 85% of the available RAM, usually just over a
half Gig just for Photoshop.  It made a ton of difference.  I zing along
through 58Mb .TIF images with no dificulty.  If you don't have a lot of RAM
to go along with the new HD, get some.  I think that will help your
Photoshop speed more than a new HD.
