As far as I know the colours are not as correct as a CRT. I think their main advantage is they are very efficient on desk real estate.

Here's a question for the computer equipment gurus...
The "new" LCD monitors that are becoming more and more popular...would anyone out there know:
 
1.    How long do they last? Do they have the same life expectency as a CRT or better perhaps?
 
2.    How well do they represent an image compared to a good CRT monitor? Do they portray color as accurately?
 
3.    Do they need to "warm up" or are they accurate from the moment that they are turned on?
 
     Info much appreciated...
