Hi Tommy,
                If it is your first experience in AP I suggest you consider
piggy back work. It is much easier and give you rewarding results without
too much effort or equipment.

If you really want to use the 8" you need to consider how to guide it and
how to attach a camera to it. It would however make a good guide scope.
