Great trails shots! I had been shooting this film at f/5.6 for trails, but
I really like the brighter stars and M42 you got at f/4 (on the long shot).
BTW, I did once shoot a few guided Milky Way shots at f/5.6 with this film
using a 65mm lens with 120 film. However, the exposures were too short
(20-30 minutes) to really record much other than bright stuff like M16/M17,
and the lens in question was wide open at that f-stop and had some minor
seagulls. Because it's such a wonderful fine-grained film, and records star
colors so well, the next thing I hope to try is to shoot this film at f/4
with the Borg 100ED. 60 minutes at f/4 and we ought to know what it can do
on extended objects in wider fields than John's fine planetary nebulae
shots.
Your recent M78 and Rosette shots are very nice, too!
Sincerely,
Jon Kolb
