Re: [APML] TMB Scopes

Tim:

Thanks for your reply.   Saw your photos and they look like a good start.   I am sure that you are enjoying that new great scope to the fullest.

I would have replied off-line but did not have an e-mail address.

I have been viewing the superb photos shown on this site for a couple of months now and have an equipment question. I see that most of the great photos are done with AP's, TAK's, and OGS, RC's. I have not noticed that anyone is using a TMB scope for their astrophotos. Is there a reason? I would appreciate your comments on this. Thanks; Harry L. Harry,

I have a TMB-152 and use it with a Pentax 67-II camera.  For 6x7 film one needs the field flattner.
For 35mm or CCD it is not needed.  I have been trying to get some pictures with it, but I am still
learning the ropes.  Also can't get out on new moons over quite a few months, which is a long
story!  Anyway, the color correction is right on and looking at my slide shots, I see the stars are
perfect to the edge.  I have some images at  tim.povlick.com, but not sure if you will be able to
get into it, web / IP-addressing problem which should be resolved soon.   I am trying to get some
pics from the last time out put in place also.  I am at the web-servers mercy as you can tell.
Someone posted some terrific images awhile back on this list.

TMB imagers are indeed out there....
