Re: [APML] Self-guiding camera
Daryn & Gene,
Here's some questions I think we all would like to ask. I appreciate
that not all of the answers (and perhaps none of them) may be apparent
from the materials you have access to...
1b) Once the modification is made, can the camera viewfinder be used?
1b) What is the procedure for switching between viewing and guiding?
2) What is the potential impact of the prism shadow on the exposure?
3a) Does the modification cause the camera to lose any of its
functionality?
3b) How much of the modification is reversable if the camera were to be
eventually sold for standard photography?
4) Can the self-guiding be performed with either a telescope or any
camera lens?
5) Is there a good way to make the ST-4 permanently parfocal with the
film plane?
6) How are guide stars chosen? Does the whole camera body need to be
rotated? Is that the only way?
7) How many AP-ers have done this modification? Can we see any of the
resulting images on the web?
