I haven't seen the M8 you are referring to because I canceled my
subscription to Astronomy several months ago.  Poor image reproduction along
with other editorial issues are the cause.  I had subscribed to it since
1985.  At this point, its really a very poor magazine.

Nothing published by Astronomy Magazine surprises me any more.
I saw the M8 and thought it was just a colorized black and white.
But it could also have been just another example of the terrible
color printing of their magazine.  Sky and Telescope has made
tremendous improvements in their color printing during the last
year.  Astronomy needs to take similar actions.
