Hi John---I really like your diffraction effect very much!!
I tried a similar thing using a Cokin filter adapter  with a Star 4 filter
attached to my TeleVue Oracle.  I was trying to optimize focus, and hadn't
planned on leaving it in place. When I took the filter off, the focus shifted
due to removing the glass of the filter.
Ooops! (Slow learner here!)
