Thanks to all of you that responded to my TMB scope
inquiry, for both the info and the links.
Sounds like they are good scope but need a field
flattener.
I hope to get a quality scope one of these days and
get into some serious astrophoto & imaging.
I am really enjoying viewing all of the great
photos on this list. There is a lot of talent here.
For now I am mostly viewing with my 18" dobs and
doing some limited astrophotography using an 8" Celestar for short
exposures of the Moon, brighter planets and Sun spots.(it is a terrible tracking
drive & I am NO GOOD at manual guiding) I also use a Pronto,
piggybacked to the 8".
I use a Nikon F(rarely), F2 & F3 for the
imaging, but you need to lock the mirrors
up as the mirror slap on Nikons is pretty bad.
I am lucky to live at a fairly dark site with a
great Southern horizon, but we have a lot of cloudy weather here in SE
Mich. so the viewing/photo ops are not that great, especially Nov. thru
Mar.
Thanks again,
Harry L. Juday
