I'm considering an purchasing an Orion Short Tube 80mm refractor as
a telephoto lens. In their catalog they show a decent M 31 photo
by Alfredo Garcia and in the recent "Reflector" a respectable shot of the
North Am Nebula by Allen Miller.

I'm wondering if field edge performance is a problem and if a field flattener
is needed or recommended (and which one). Would there be serous
vignetting or will the field fill a 35mm film frame?.
