Hi Bobby,
I think PPF 400 has a real good response to blue light.
I.e. the blue ion tail on my Hale Bopp photos
(http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/6999/ekometen.htm) comes out very
good. So your problem could be the Deep-Sky-filter.
