Depends on how hard core you are about having a portable, hand 
powered rig for astrophotography.  My barn door drive disassembles 
and fits in my duffle bag.  I took it with me when I deployed this 
spring to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia and took hand guided 
shots of Hale-Bopp with 50 through 200mm lenses.  (Too bad the sky 
was so @#! dusty out there!)

Hard to do that with a typical SCT and equatorial mount.  ;-)
