  I'm not sure of that.  One branch of it definitely is, but there is another
branch of that isn't involved with either inherent or
added beauty alluded to in the points quoted below, namely the scientific AP.

  Palomar DSS or Tombaugh's zillion of pre-Pluto plates are part of
that second branch: scientific observation of nature. It doesn't fit in:

as beauty wasn't the purpose of the taking the plates, nor does it fit:
