  Without a reference, how can you tell, espcially with astrophotos? 
I like being able to check that there is no major problem. If the test
chart turned out to be oddly red, I'd treat the remaining shots with a
certain suspicion. Finding that Deneb has turned beautifully red would 
otherwise be enough to give anyone palpitations - especially if the sky
had clouded over ...
